Research Interests

  • What tools and datasets are available to understand environmental processes and water-related issues

  • How can we use these existing datasets?

  • How anthropogenic activities have affected the water quality and quantity across the landscape?

  • How combined land-use and climate change will impact water resources and the local communities?

  • What is the main drivers and the underlying processes of these changes?

  • Can we use and adapt parsimonious water quality and hydrologic models to capture the dominant processes in watershed responses?

  • How can we develop practical tools for decision-makers and adaptation planners?

  • How can we deal with uncertainty?

I am interested in advancing our understanding of the water-related issues at different spatiotemporal scale. I am investigating how anthropogenically-driven local and global change (e.g., land use and land cover change, climate change) alter the quantity and quality of water resources at short and long terms.

With the growing creation and availability of data, there are new approaches and opportunities to understand our environment. In this context,  I am using data analytics and modeling to predict and identify systems threaten by local and global changes.

I am interesting in investigating the following questions:

Climate and human-activities affect freshwater quality and quantity within a watershed
